Privacy
The short version: LakeStatus uses Google Analytics to understand how people use the site, in aggregate. We don't sell your data or build a profile of you.
What we collect
LakeStatus uses Google Analytics (GA4) and the cookies it sets to understand aggregate traffic — things like which lakes and pages are popular, roughly where visitors come from, and how people move through the site. This is aggregate, non-personal usage analytics. We use it to decide which lakes to add next and where to improve, not to identify you.
Google's role
Because Google Analytics is a Google product, Google may process this data according to its own policies. You can read how Google handles it in the Google Privacy Policy.
How to opt out
If you'd rather not be counted, you have a couple of options:
- Block or clear cookies in your browser settings, or use a private/incognito window.
- Install Google's official Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on, which stops Analytics from running on any site.
That's it. If you have a question about any of this, reach out at [email protected].
